Recycling Project
Part 1
For this project, I had to mix different songs from bands I like, to create a CD with a program called Virtual DJ. The songs that I included in the CD are the following:
“Arepa 3000” and “Plastic Woman” by Amigos Invisibles, “Electro Movimiento” by Calle 13, and “La Perla” by Calle 13 featuring Ruben Blades.
The development of my piece was playing a song until a certain point where I mixed the second song with the previous one, and then slowly lowered the volume of the first one. At the moment where they mixed, I used an effect called “brake” to end the previous one.
This project relates to recycling because I am using old songs to make a new production.
PART 2
For this project, I also had to create a cover for the CD using recycled materials.
I used a cereal box to make the actual envelope, and I cut letters from old magazines to make the words.
This part of the project relates to recycling because instead of throwing away the cereal box and the magazines, I used them to create art.
